Reclaiming the Archive: Community Scanning Days - The Paper Trail | Vancouver
Join us for our inaugural community document scanning day at the Chinese Canadian Museum focusing on Chinese Immigration (C.I.) certificates.
This program will include a special opportunity to learn how to interpret C.I. certificates from Catherine Clement, curator of The Paper Trail to the 1923 Chinese Exclusion Act, and receive direct research and scanning support from research assistant, Naomi Louie, and museum staff.
Participants are encouraged to bring certificates from their families to add to the growing The Paper Trail collection or information they can use to search the public archive now housed at the UBC Library.
Spots are limited so we encourage guests to RSVP early! Attendance is free with admission. This program is co-presented by the Chinese Canadian Museum and the Chinese Canadian Historical Society of British Columbia.
