Reclaiming the Archive: Community Scanning Days - The Paper Trail | Victoria
Sunday, May 26, 11:00 A.M - 4:00 P.M. PDT
Join us for our community document scanning day at the Chinese Canadian Museum focusing on Chinese Immigration (C.I.) certificates.
This drop-in program will include a special opportunity to learn how to interpret C.I. certificates and receive direct research and scanning support from The Paper Trail to the 1923 Chinese Exclusion Act curatorial assistant, Naomi Louie.
Participants are encouraged to bring certificates from their families to add to the growing The Paper Trail collection now housed at the UBC Library. The Paper Trail is accepting scans of C.I. 5, C.I. 28, C.I. 30, C.I. 36, and C.I. 45 certificates until June 30, 2024.
