Family Ties: A Guided Tour of the Wongs’ Benevolent Association and Mon Keang School | Vancouver
Have you wanted to learn more about your family history? Are you curious about the importance of clan societies in Chinatown? Explore the significance of lineage, extended family ties, and cultural traditions with volunteers from the Wongs’ Benevolent Association.
Join us for a look inside Vancouver’s oldest operating Chinese school, Mon Keang School, in its original building in the Wongs’ Benevolent Association. On this guided tour, discover the history and traditional cultural practices which take place in this historic building.
Mon Keang School has been selected as a finalist in The Next Great Save (National Trust For Canada), and the Wongs’ are providing an exclusive look into the space.
