CCM Receives Major Gifts from Dr. Vivienne Poy & David and Dorothy Lam Foundation
The Chinese Canadian Museum is thrilled to announce it has received $2.8 million from the Honourable Dr. Vivienne Poy and family through the Lee Tak Wai Foundation and $1 million from the David and Dorothy Lam Foundation.
We are incredibly grateful for these gifts from the Lee Tak Wai Foundation and the David and Dorothy Lam Foundation, which provide a strong foundation for the museum to take its place as a new and important cultural institution in Canada.
The Chinese Canadian Museum is the first of its kind in the country and will make the historic Wing Sang Building in Vancouver Chinatown its permanent location. The museum will open in July with a national exhibition titled The Paper Trail to the 1923 Chinese Exclusion Act, marking 100 years since the Chinese Immigration Act, 1923 (also known as the Chinese Exclusion Act).
A news release has been issued today to share this gift announcement with the wider community.
Join us in honouring the history, contributions, and heritage of Chinese Canadians and celebrating the diversity and promoting inclusion that continue to shape our country. If you wish to learn more about the Chinese Canadian Museum and ways to support our fundraising campaign, please contact us.
