School and Teacher Programs
Looking to bring your class to the museum? The Chinese Canadian Museum is excited to offer a variety of on-site educational programs to enhance your class’s learning experience and knowledge of Chinese Canadian history, heritage, and culture.
Educational programs at the Chinese Canadian Museum are designed to complement the B.C. provincial curriculum for K-12, as well as for post-secondary learning. Each program is led by a trained museum educator and includes a printed worksheet or activity booklet for each student to supplement hands-on learning.
In addition to English, we are proud to offer educational programs for Chinese language learners — the only museum in the province to do so. Our programs are available in Cantonese or Mandarin, and accompanying learning materials are provided in your choice of Traditional or Simplified Chinese.

Our school programs are adaptable to various grade ranges to meet different reading comprehension levels and curricular needs of students. All facilitated school programs must be booked a minimum of 2 weeks in advance of your requested date through our booking request form. Just want a tour of the exhibitions without activities? For the 2024-2025 school year, we are accepting school program bookings every Wednesday to Friday from September 25 to December 20, 2024, and January 15 until June 27, 2025.

Pre and Post Visit Lesson Plans
Enrich your visit with pre and post visit lesson plans you can use in your class! Lesson plans include learning resources and activities specially designed to provide deeper context to and build on the themes explored in our programs. Booking Policies
Booking
All facilitated school programs and private guided school tours must be booked a minimum of 2 weeks in advance of your requested date through our booking request form. Programs and tours are priced per class for a maximum of 30 students. Only one class may be booked at a time for each program. We do not offer prorated pricing for classes based on the actual number of students attending.
Adult Chaperones
Adult chaperones are required to accompany school programs and private guided school tours. Up to 6 adult chaperones aged 18+ (including teachers) are included in the group booking rate at no additional cost; any additional chaperones will be charged the regular adult admission rate. The minimum number of adult chaperones required varies by grade. Grades K-7 require 1 adult chaperone per 7 students; grades 8 and up require 1 adult chaperone per 15 students.
Late Arrivals
Please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your booking time so that your program is able to begin on time. We are unable to extend your booking time due to late arrival. Please call our front desk if you anticipate any delays in arriving on time to your scheduled booking.
Payment & Cancellation Policies
Payment
Booking requests are not confirmed until payment is received in full. Please allow up to 2 business days to receive an invoice for payment after your booking request is submitted. Invoices may be paid online via credit card or EFT and received a minimum of one week before your requested booking date. We do not accept payment on arrival.
Cancellations & Refunds
If you can no longer attend your field trip booking, we will credit your account for a rescheduled booking, up until day-of notification. Please contact us as soon as possible in the event you are no longer able to make your confirmed booking. We are unable to issue refunds at this time except in the case of museum closure due to unforeseen circumstances. Thank you for your understanding.
